FOSTER HOMES
Fostering a Mini Aussie is one of the most rewarding experiences! As a foster home, one is able to see the transformation of a dog that has experienced an unstable, often neglectful background into a beautiful, well cared for Miniature Australian Shepherd. As a foster home, You are the vehicle for making this transformation happen! The dogs we rescue often come to us in need of medical work and basic manners. While fostering takes time, energy, love and patience,there is no better feeling than being apart of saving an unwanted dogs life and their transformation into a dog that is ready for a new home. At TMAR, we are fortunate to be able to provide the funds for medical work and other costs involved with fostering a dog. However because we are a small rescue we sometimes ask that our foster homes provide dog food to the dog they foster. When you commit to foster a dog rescued by TMAR we expect that you, as a foster home, keep the dog in your care until he/she is adopted into a new home which is sometimes several months depending upon what the dog is needing in terms of medical care, training and when an applicant applies and is approved to adopt the dog you foster.

Personal pets (Dog/Cats) must be spayed/neutered, current on Vaccinations (rabies, DAPPv Bordetella) and dogs kept current on Heart Worm Prevention. Foster homes must meet the same criteria & requirements as an adopter (see the Adoption Process by clicking Here).

Foster Application Process
- Please complete the Foster Application located on our forms page by clicking HERE. Then read, initial, sign & date the Foster Home Contract Agreement also located on the forms page. Once completed please scan and email both documents as attachments after saving it to your computer in a word document to

- A friendly home visit with a TMAR rescue representative at your home will be scheduled to go over the foster program in more detail & help prepare you for a foster dog.

Why does TMAR not utilize foster homes in other areas of Texas?
Our organization is based in the DFW area where our veterinarians who specialize with helping our rescue are also located. Unfortunately TMAR also does not have the resources or required representatives to properly conduct a foster program in other parts of the state at this time. We will update when we are able to expand to other areas in Texas.
