Texas Mini Aussie Rescue (TMAR) started when a small group of rescuers who began working together in 2015. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and place Mini Aussies in loving homes. TMAR works to promote rescuing Miniature Australian Shepherds as a healthy and compassionate alternative to supporting the breeding industry, as well as an effective means to fight the current problem of overpopulation and homeless companion animals in Texas.
TMAR is a foster based rescue where all dogs in our program are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, de-wormed, receive heart worm testing and preventative as well as treated for any illness or injury while being prepared for new lives as beloved family members. Applicants are required to submit an extensive application, allow a home visit with a rescue representative and provide veterinarian & personal references that will be checked. We plan to match every dog with their forever family.
Texas Mini Aussie Rescue relies on our amazing volunteers throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth and surrounding areas to provide foster homes for our rescued Mini Aussies where they are prepared for new lives as beloved family members while awaiting adoption. Adoptions are not on a first come first serve basis as our main goal is to match the Mini Aussies we've rescued with a forever family that is best suited to each dog’s individual personality and needs ensuring a lifetime of love for both the dog and the adopter.
Texas Mini Aussie Rescue has a constant need for volunteers in a variety of areas. Most of all we need volunteers who can provide our Mini Aussies with a safe place to stay while preparing for adoption. Without foster homes we are simply unable to rescue these dogs that are becoming increasingly in need rescue! If you would like to become a foster please complete our Foster Application located on our websites Forms page by clicking HERE. Once your completed application is received and processed a TMAR representative will be in contact with you to provide more information on our foster program and answer any questions you may have. Your help with rescuing this easily exploited and often misunderstood breed is crucial! **Foster Volunteers must meet the same criteria as our adopters.

In addition applicants are required to provide personal and veterinarian references and allow a friendly home visit from a rescue representative prior to the approval of meeting any of our adoptable dogs. Our adoption process may seem time consuming or unnecessarily complicated to some, but please understand that we have our Mini Aussies best interests at heart. We strive to find the best homes possible for each of our Mini Aussies, as well as find the right Mini Aussie for you and your lifestyle.
